FamiLingua · Online Center for Multilingual Families
Privacy policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
FamiLingua is run by Gema Brett from the Cayman Islands. This page explains, in plain words, what information we collect when you use our website, guides, courses, consultations and community, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- Your name and email address, when you ask for a free guide, join the FamiLingua Center, buy a product or book a consultation.
- Payment details, when you buy something. Payments are handled by nas.com and its payment providers. We never see or keep your card number.
- What you tell us about your family, when you book a consultation, fill in a form, or write to us by email or message: your languages, your children's ages, and what is happening at home.
- Your Instagram messages and comments, when you comment a keyword or send us a message, so we can send you what you asked for.
How we use it
- To send you what you asked for: a guide, a product, a booking confirmation, a reply.
- To prepare and give your consultation, and to write your family's plan.
- To send you emails about FamiLingua: new resources, posts and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of every email.
- To understand, in total, which guides and posts help families most, so we know what to make next.
We do not sell your information, and we never use it to build advertising profiles of you or your children.
Your children's information
Our website and products are made for parents, not for children. When you tell us about your child, we use it only to help your family. It is kept private, never published, and never shared with anyone outside FamiLingua without your permission. If we ever want to share part of your story to help other families, we will ask you first, and we will not use your child's name.
Who helps us run FamiLingua
We use a few trusted services. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job:
- nas.com: our app, community, courses, bookings, payments and emails.
- ManyChat and Instagram (Meta): to answer your comments and messages.
- Google: email, and the spreadsheets where we keep the list of people who asked for a guide.
- Netlify: the company that hosts this website and our free guides.
Some of these services store information outside the Cayman Islands, for example in the United States or Europe.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you are part of FamiLingua or as long as we need it to help you. Payment records are kept for as long as the law requires. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, unless the law says we must keep it.
Your rights
Under the Cayman Islands Data Protection Act, and similar laws where you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your information;
- stop sending you emails, or stop using your information for a particular purpose.
Just email hello@familinguacenter.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can contact the Ombudsman of the Cayman Islands, or the data protection authority where you live.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The services we link to, like nas.com and Instagram, have their own cookies and their own privacy policies.
Keeping it safe
We only keep the information we need, we use secure, well-known services, and we limit who can see it. No method is perfect, but we take looking after your family's information seriously.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top.
